Life would not be possible without water, and we’re all happy that we have running water in our homes. At the same time, water in the wrong place could mean very costly repairs to your home. There are many ways for it to enter into areas where it should not be.

Whenever you have signs of water damage anywhere in your home, you need to identify the location and remedy the situation as soon as possible, since it will get worse over time, and sometimes very quickly.

You have probably noticed water leaks in the past by seeing discoloration on walls or ceilings, but the tricky part is figuring out where the actual leak is located. Water can travel along pipes or other objects inside of the structure, only to manifest at a completely different part of the house.

The water could come from a leaking pipe or appliance, but it is also possible that it could be entering the house from the outside through an improperly sealed door, window or even a crack.
